We seek a postdoctoral fellow in cancer epidemiology, with an emphasis on health disparities, to join Dr. Margaret Du’s team in the Epidemiology Service. The fellow will lead projects in a wide breadth of population-based research to reduce the burden of colorectal, endometrial, and pancreatic cancers. Examples of topics include colorectal cancer genomics and risk factors in Nigeria, uncovering factors that drive the more than 2-fold higher mortality in Black patients with endometrial cancer, and pancreatic cancer risk factors and early detection/surveillance, among others. The fellow will be an active member of international cross-disciplinary research teams as well as publish peer-reviewed work, present at scientific conferences, and gain experience in grant writing.

The ideal candidate will have:
A doctoral degree in epidemiology or related quantitative discipline, including but not limited to biostatistics, public health, or cancer biology.Enthusiasm and creativity for understanding cancer epidemiology or health disparities.Peer-reviewed publications in epidemiology or related quantitative field.Strong understanding of quantitative methods, study design, and data analysis and interpretation.Comfort working with large data sets and proficiency in a statistical programming language, including but not limited to R, SAS, or Stata.Strong verbal and written communication skills.
